Moore’s Industrial Service Ltd.is dedicated to providing quality service that warrants a safe and healthy workplace for our employees while implementing efforts to minimize our environmental footprint. This means operating in compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and continually striving to surpass goals that will take us one step closer to becoming entirely green. We are constantly exploring new ideas in different industrial sectors and branching out to familiarize ourselves in order to ensure best practices are in place for every operation conducted. Our commitment to the environment extends to our customers, employees and the community in which we operate.
We are committed to:
- Limiting consumption of energy and water to conserve natural resources and lessen environmental influence by purchasing environmentally-friendly goods and services.
- Striving to better understand environmental impacts and concerns in our practices, to expand our knowledge base and integrate what we learned into our decision making.
- Developing in house and additional programs to continually improve efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
- Promote environmental awareness throughout all operations of the company by informing, educating, and training staff on policies and issues that may affect their work.
- Internally audit our practices, to ensure our goals are being reached.
- Ensuring appropriate spill response and emergency procedures are in place and that hazards are dealt with accordingly.
- Making ourselves aware of potential environmental concerns so that we can mitigate adverse consequences.
Environmental Responsibility in our Business
At Moore’s we believe we are the cleanest and greenest hard chrome plating facility on the planet. We work hard to not only maintain that status but to continually seek improvements in how we protect our environment and minimize our carbon footprint.
- We reclaim all chrome from stripping operations.
- No hazardous material leaves our facilities.
- We have numerous dust collectors and scrubbers protecting the air in and around our facilities.
- All scrap metals and cardboard are recycled.
Moore’s Industrial Service Ltd. is focused on a strong relationship with Environment Canada through communication and reporting; the National Pollutant Release Inventory is recorded and submitted to meet national compliance. Regulations from Environment Canada have been implemented for Stack Testing of atmospheric release for the units of chrome plating. This includes retesting every 5 years to ensure Moore’s stacks are compliant.
