Quality Assurance/Health & Safety Coordinator

Moore's Industrial Service Ltd. has been offering high quality, precision machining services since 1946. Located in Calgary, Alberta, our 200,000 square foot facility is where we earned the reputation as one of the world’s best industrial coatings specialists in: Hard Chrome, Electroless Nickel and Tungsten Carbide HVOF and HVAF Coatings.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as Quality Assurance/Health & Safety Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and great work ethic.  

Key Responsibility:

    Work closely with Quality Assurance Manager & HSE Manager, as well as department Foremen by providing support to ensure QA & HSE requirements are met

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Quality Management System (QMS) compliance in relation to company operations
  • Develop, standardize and implement QA policies, procedures, instructions, tools and training
  • Manage QMS communications and employee training requirements for all departments
  • Assess and improve upon quality objectives, metrics, reporting and operating mechanisms
  • Calibration of Precision Measuring Equipment
  • Completion of Internal Audits/Non-Conformance Reports in collaboration with QA Manager
  • Produce Monthly Quality Reports

Health, Safety & Environment Responsibilities

  • Promote the employer’s HSE program and lead by example
  • Ensures employee and company compliance with all HSE policies and procedures
  • Complete internal investigations regarding HSE concerns, incidents, near misses, and accidents as they arise
  • Conduct new employee HSE orientations; reviews all necessary HSE documentation with employee and ensures documentation is completed accurately for assigned departments
  • Conduct various emergency drills
  • Manage PPE needs for all employee including completion of respirator fit testing
  • Assist with WCB documentation and supporting return to work programs
  • Communicate with external customers and internal staff on various enquiries


  • Must be comfortable communicating with clients and coworkers in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to provide leadership, motivation, and direction to departments heads and employees
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management, OHS legislation and/or familiar with COR audits are all definite assets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and capability of learning new software programs quickly
