Quality Assurance/Health & Safety Coordinator

Moore's Industrial Service Ltd. has been offering high quality, precision machining services since 1946. Located in Calgary, Alberta, our 200,000 square foot facility is where we earned the reputation as one of the world’s best industrial coatings specialists in: Hard Chrome, Electroless Nickel and Tungsten Carbide HVOF and HVAF Coatings.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as Quality Assurance/Health & Safety Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and great work ethic.

Key Responsibility:

  • Work closely with Quality Assurance Manager & HSE Manager, as well as department Foremen by providing support to ensure QA & HSE requirements are met

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Quality Management System (QMS) compliance in relation to company operations
  • Develop, standardize and implement QA policies, procedures, instructions, tools and training
  • Manage QMS communications and employee training requirements for all departments
  • Assess and improve upon quality objectives, metrics, reporting and operating mechanisms
  • Calibration of Precision Measuring Equipment
  • Completion of Internal Audits/Non-Conformance Reports in collaboration with QA Manager
  • Produce Monthly Quality Reports

Health, Safety & Environment Responsibilities

  • Promote the employer’s HSE program and lead by example
  • Ensures employee and company compliance with all HSE policies and procedures
  • Complete internal investigations regarding HSE concerns, incidents, near misses, and accidents as they arise
  • Conduct new employee HSE orientations; reviews all necessary HSE documentation with employee and ensures documentation is completed accurately for assigned departments
  • Conduct various emergency drills
  • Manage PPE needs for all employee including completion of respirator fit testing
  • Assist with WCB documentation and supporting return to work programs
  • Communicate with external customers and internal staff on various enquiries

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable communicating with clients and coworkers in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to provide leadership, motivation, and direction to departments heads and employees
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management, OHS legislation and/or familiar with COR audits are all definite assets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and capability of learning new software programs quickly

External Grinder

Moore's Industrial Service Ltd. has been offering high quality, precision machining services in Calgary since 1946. Operating from 3 locations, and boasting working space in excess of 200,000 square feet, Moore's has grown from a respected small family business into a world class industrial machine shop.

Moore’s Industrial Service Ltd. has always been committed to providing a superior work environment, and is proud of its established team of qualified employees. We are currently looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an External Grinder in our Chrome & Grind department. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and great work ethic.  Training will be provided for this position.

This is a permanent full time position. Successful candidate will be eligible for extended health and dental benefits after completion of probation period. 

Key Responsibility:

  • Work closely with Foreman & team members to ensure quality and customer requirements for grinding are met

Responsibilities Include:

  • Grind and polish pieces to required specifications
  • Clean edges with angle grinder as per instructions
  • Load and set up pieces into machine
  • Follow and complete documents/records as per ISO/COR standards and Customer requirements

Qualifications:

  • Basic English & Math skills are required
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and complete repetitive tasks
  • Must contribute to the work environment in a positive and professional manner
  • Work experience in an industrial environment is considered an asset

General Maintenance Worker

Since 1946 Moore’s Industrial Service Ltd. has been committed to providing a superior work environment, and is proud of its established team of qualified employees. We are currently looking for a dedicated and motivated General Maintenance Workers to join our team. This position is a permanent full-time position and extended health/dental benefits are offered after ninety days of employment. There are currently two positions available, one at our Balzac location and the other at our Building 2 Calgary location (30th ave NE).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the daily maintenance and care of company building and equipment as per Foreman’s direction
  • Maintenance service for company equipment as per established schedule and instructions
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment as required
  • General repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery such as dismantling, cleaning, greasing, changing of filters, etc.
  • Updating maintenance/repair records
  • Yard maintenance/snow shoveling
  • Ability to be on-call for a 24 hour period when required as per rotational schedule
  • Other job duties when determined to be required by management
  • Strict compliance with company Health and Safety Standards must be adhered to at all times; protective measures must be followed when working in situation involving handling of hazardous materials

Chrome Plater

We are currently looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as Chrome Plater in our Chrome & Grind department. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and great work ethic.  Training will be provided for this position.

This is a permanent full time position. Successful candidate will be eligible for extended health and dental benefits after completion of probation period. 

Key Responsibility:

  • Work closely with Foreman & team members to ensure quality and customer requirements for chrome plating are met

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepping pieces for strip and plating
  • Hook up, tape or wax pieces
  • Operate tanks
  • Measure & inspect pieces as per Customers specification
  • Meet quality control criteria for stripping and plating of pieces
  • Sandblasting & cylindrical grinding when required
  • Follow and complete documents/records as per ISO/COR standards and Customer requirements

Qualifications:

  • Basic English & Math skills are required
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Must contribute to the work environment in a positive and professional manner
  • Working knowledge of plating tanks and rectifiers are considered an asset
